UROK is a reminder. A reminder to check on your people, to have real conversations, and to know that it's okay to not be okay.
Wearing it tells everyone around you one simple thing: you can talk to me. One hat in a room changes what's allowed to be said in it.
Awareness says: remember the issue.
UROK says: talk to somebody.
Wear it.
Share it.
Start the conversation.
Same people. Different days. The name does what the brand does.
More than a brand. Five things we keep saying, because they keep being true.
Concept previews — the first run gets dialed with the list's input. Limited first run; the list below decides what gets printed and gets first dibs when it does.
U R O K was born from the words I couldn’t say.
For most of my life, I struggled to talk about my mental health. I harbored my feelings. I kept things inside and convinced myself that taking it on the chin and moving forward was the way to handle it.
When I was young, I lost someone incredibly close to me. I didn’t know how to cope with that kind of loss. I didn’t know how to talk about it. I didn’t know how to ask for help.
So I didn’t.
I carried it.
I smiled. I kept moving. And I told myself:
“U R O K.”
But sometimes saying you’re OK doesn’t mean you actually are.
That’s where this brand comes from.
U R O K is the voice I didn’t have at that time.
It’s for the person carrying something nobody else can see. The person who says “I’m good” because explaining the truth feels too hard. The person who needs to hear that struggling doesn’t have to be hidden.
And for me personally:
This brand is the therapy chair I never sat in.
Every shirt. Every hat. Every hoodie. Every conversation started by those four letters is an opportunity to say something I couldn’t say when I needed to.
U R O K isn’t about pretending everything is OK.
It’s about making it OK to talk about when it isn’t.
If this brand gives one person the courage to speak, gives one friend a reason to check in, or makes someone feel a little less alone, then it’s doing exactly what it was created to do.
U R O K.
Four letters. A bigger conversation.
